A WARN ZEON winch makes all Jeeps happy!

We are back from the NW Overland Rally in Plain, WA, and we had a great show. There were awesome vehicles, great classes (including the one we taught on winching recovery with Bob Wohlers from the Off-Road Safety Academy), and tons of amazing people from all around the Pacific Northwest.

warnboothWarn had a booth at the event and we showcased our Drill Winch, our line of Epic accessories, our ZEON Platinum on the ROAMBUILT Mercedes Sprinter, and our VR8000-S winch on the Suzuki Sidekick.

The NW Overland Rally is well known for its nightly raffle where vendors give away free product. We gave away a host of goodies including a VR8000 winch, a Drill Winch, Epic Hooks, WARN hats, and winching gloves.

I taught a winching class with Bob Wohlers which went from basic winch use all the way up to multi-line pulls. In the photo above, we’re demonstrating a double-line pull and they way mechanical advantage works. It was educational, fun, and we had a lot of great questions. In addition to our course, there were off-road driving classes, medical preparedness classes, classes about international travel, outdoor first aid, satellite communication, and more.

Then, of course, there were the vehicles—so many cool adventuremobiles. From Fords to Jeeps, Land Rovers to Nissans, Toyotas to Mitsubishis, if you’re into 4WD vehicles, there was something for you there. Plus, with 80+ vendors on hand, there was gear for just about every need and want.

The NW Overland Rally is always a great time with fun people in a scenic locale. If you weren’t able to make in this year, 2017 promises not to disappoint. We’ll see you in the northwest next year. Meanwhile, here are some of those cool rigs I mentioned.

Expedition Overland brought of of their WARN-equipped Toyota 4Runners from Montana. The vehicle has driven from the U.S. all the way to Panama.
1992 Jeep Cherokee with a WARN M8000 winch on 31″ tires with 4″ lift.
The WARN-equipped Ford Ranger from Oregon Trail Off-Road. They are going to retrace the Oregon Trail in their vehicles and leave soon.
Aerocontinental brought their in-progress Ford F-350 and it was awesome. Love that aluminum shell and the wheels/tires are sweet, too.
This Ram 3500 in the VMI Off Road booth had a WARN 16.5ti behind the AEV bumper.
Nicely built Wrangler JKU with a WARN VR10000 in the bumper.
This Mitsubishi Fuso based rig had a WARN 16.5ti as part of its adventure gear.
This F-150 had a camper out back, a motorcycle in front, and a WARN M8274 on the bumper.
There’s plenty of time to relax at the Rally. We spied this gentleman doing just that by his nicely equipped Land Rover Discovery.
This Portland Search and Rescue Volvo was a big hit. You don’t see these everyday.
Probably one of the cleanest Discovery models I’ve seen.
The Dodge EEXP Camper from Exploring Elements has a WARN M12000 … and is for sale. It’s been all the way up to the top of Alaska and back. Great rig.
Even this brush truck had a WARN winch on it!
My Suzuki with a WARN VR8000-s, Premium Hubs, and LED lights in the WARN booth. We’ll see you next year!
